What are the materials of swimsuit fabrics

Most swimsuits are made of textiles that do not sag or bulge when exposed to water. The most common swimwear fabrics are DuPont Lycra, nylon, and polyester. The first two fabrics are mostly used for one-piece swimsuits due to their good elasticity and softness. Polyester is generally suitable for split swimsuits due to its slightly weaker elasticity. A good swimsuit has a spandex content of around 18% in its fabric.

Fabric affects the feeling we feel when wearing swimsuits. Comfortable fabrics can make the wearer feel less burdened, and swimsuits are made to fit snugly and come into close contact with the skin. Therefore, choosing swimsuit fabric is important.

The mainstream components of swimwear

DuPont Lycra, nylon, and polyester are currently the most commonly used materials in the swimwear category, and any special materials such as wisps and jacquards cannot be separated from the above three types of elastic materials. Many new swimsuits come with special treatments such as UV resistance, chlorine resistance, or water splashing treatment.
